Background
Darwin Cruz fell in love with photography after getting his first digital camera in 2003. Now, he carries a camera with him wherever he goes - sometimes up to three at once ;-). He specializes in landscape and natural photography. Scenes come alive the most when he’s out exploring places like Japan, Taiwan, the Philppines and Hawaii.

He never considered photography as more than a hobby until recently when his friends would always compliment his best work. Once one of his friends decided to print his photos out from the internet and put them on their wall, he decided he might be able to actually start a business.

Born in Houston, Texas, he went to college in the Bay Area California before moving to the Pacific Northwest. Darwin currently resides in Seattle, Washington and takes full advantage of the beautiful scenery around the Puget Sound.

He would like to thank all of his friends and family for their continuous support and encouragement. He never would have developed his passion without your kind words. If you would like to support him in his photography endeavor, please consider ordering prints and telling your friends about his work!

Sales
We can also sell prints to you directly for a discounted rate. Please contact us for more info on pricing and delivery options. Local pickup from the Seattle area is also available. Friends, family and their referrals are eligible for discounts of up to 50% from the Imagekind rates.

Photo Licenses for digital copies of my work for use in both print and online publications are also available. Please contact me for more details.

10% of all profits made at dcruzinphotography.com will be donated to support elementary school tuition for street children in Pampanga, Philippines, where Darwin’s mother is from and where he has lots of family still living there. This non-profit is still in the developmental stages, and tentatively called fLYp, Filipino Local Youth Project.

Equipment
Darwin shoots with a simple Nikon D50 digital SLR camera.  He uses two lenses, a basic Nikon 28-80 and a telephoto Nikon 70-300. As far as handheld point and shoot cameras, he currently carries a Canon SD700IS, and used to have a Canon SD300. It’s not all about the equipment, as some of the photos on this site were taken with a point and shoot camera.
